I really dont understand how to use the whole,irrational, rational and real numbers... is there any easier way to understand it and will it be on the test?
I will ask about those kinds of numbers. What helps me is that I try to remember that intergers are "nice" numbers (like -2, 25, 109, no fractional parts), rational numbers can be written as a RATIO (in other words, fractions), and irrational numbers are, well, messy, no possible way to make them into even a fraction, like the square root of 2. All of these numbers are REAL numbers.
When I am thinking about domain and range on graphs, I start by focusing on the idea that the domain is shown on the x-axis, and so I try to find a low and high point, if there are low and high points for the input values. For range, I focus on the y-axis. I have a whole sheet of domain and review questions ready to go for Monday.
i don't understand how to solve a function when all you know is is what it equals(when u don't know what the function is or what they put in to get the anwser)
I think the actual calculator solving methods are a little confusing. Like the "such that" method. Reviewing a problem in class would help a lot, thanks.
